Hajime no Ippo (はじめの一歩), which literally meant First Step, is also known as Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting. In the United States, it is known as Fighting Spirit, and it is known as Knockout in the Philippines. This page was created to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Hajime no Ippo since the boxing anime was first aired in Japan on October 3, 2000, and the 25th anniversary of the manga in 2014. Meanwhile, it was first aired in the Philippines starting November 2002, and rebroadcasts were made in 2010, 2014, and 2016. It received relatively high ratings (around 4% to 12%) considering the early morning time slot. As it closes in its 26th year this October 2015, Hajime no Ippo ranks as one of the longest running manga to date. As part of this commemorative page, this history blog will feature punch statistics (based on the anime) for some of the best fights that graced Hajime no Ippo (no copyright violation intended). It is fervently hoped that readers will appreciate this commemorative page.
This commemorative page now ranks among the top entries in Google for the commemoration of the anniversary of Hajime no Ippo |
