Over 1 billion people served by the Filipino Historian in less than a decade

With 1.135 billion people reached, the milestone was achieved in time for National History Month.

Imagine a single author writing somewhere in the archipelago. Who would have thought a timid student's simple desire to share history, civics, and culture for free through an online platform will grow to proportions beyond comprehension? As a humble (or as others would like to call me, illegitimate) disciple of history, an eternal student, there is always more to learn, as conclusions in history are at best tentative, and even more to bring to the people, for there are as many opinions as there are minds. 

These little victories, which pale in comparison with most prominent historians, or even your favorite content creators, are nonetheless a treasure for someone like the #FilipinoHistorian. We began this history platform on December 15, 2012, a week before the so-called "end of the world," with the smallest of expectations - to share freely about the discipline. Our planet as we know it moved on since then, and time will tell us that the past 13 years is nothing but a trickle in the flow of history. Cyber threats, legal threats, even mortal threats for that matter, went on to take us down. Bashers, critics, defamators, haters, slanderers, and trolls abound in this present era. Despite this, we have been weaved closer together as a community that stood against the mainstream inertia. A community that attempts to see all possible sides of the narrative through an impartial lens. 

In 2016, we aimed to reach just 1 million people in a vision called "A Million Miracles." Fast forward to today, as we put it, the growth was "thousandfold." From a million to a billion, and with no income to speak of from any of it. If we only had a peso for every person reached by this history platform... But the point being, this platform remains to be free to access for all. 

Do we stop there? Are you already fed up by our existence? Is this the finality of our journey? Should I just push up the daisies? Who knows? For now, may each of you be so kind to join us in commemorating this little milestone among many others. Together, and by God's grace, we made it all possible.
